Sweat
Lodge Ceremonies: are an opportunity for people of diverse
cultural and ethnic backgrounds to come together for cleansing
and prayer, to honor the Ancient
Ancestors out of their own tribal past. Often the names
of these ancestors have been lost over time, but their energy
may be felt if they are called upon in a respectful way.
Our focus at Ancestral Circle is to rediscover and honor the
ancient Irish, pre-Hibernian or Celtic, Earth connection. These ceremonies are NOT FOR PROFIT and do
not connect to any American Indian tradition. Work is also done with people who suffer from problems
with substance abuse and need help with the process of
detoxifying. We appreciate a minimum donation to cover the
costs of materials, and a dish of food to be shared after the
ceremony.

Earth
Connected Marriage Ceremony: This is a ceremony whereby
the couple marry each other by invoking the natural
elements of earth, air, fire and water that make up our world.
This ceremony also calls upon the protective ancestral Spirits and
allows the couple to share their
loving event with family and friends. This is a simple yet
moving and joyful ceremony in which the couple is encircled by all their
friends and family standing and supporting them. Sean Casey,
as an ordained minister of The Universal Life Church, has
facilitated a number of these marriage ceremonies and acts as
a gentle, caring guide to help keep everything on track.
-
Circle of Ancestors Workshop: In this program participants will
learn exercises for renewing their life connection to the
Earth Mother and all the ancient aspects of our world that
represent our "Ancestors". In this workshop participants will
learn methods for drawing in the power of
the Earth to recharge one’s self. There are also therapeutic
ways for releasing pain or anger to the Earth. Some of the
exercises for this workshop include Dream Work, Drum
Journeying, Shield and Mask making, Manifestation and the Death Lodge (a
symbolic letting go of your life as if in preparation for
death, a way to come to resolution with past and current
relationships). We will also cover Labyrinth construction and
walking meditation. Teachers from a wide variety of
shamanic and Earth Connected backgrounds will be brought in as
well.

Urban
Walkabout: A form of Vision Quest in which a person steps
outside of their life, but within the structure of present day
culture. In this form there is no fasting, but there is a great
deal of trusting Spirit to bring the necessary lessons the
person needs to grow and change. The participant is counseled
as to the process, encouraged to keep a daily journal and a
meditative attitude while on their journey. At the end of their
journey their experience will be told to a guide on the staff
here at Ancestral Circle so that they can be helped to
understand the messages from Spirit and their own higher self.

In the ancient
darkness
of our
ancestral place
we circle hot
stones
and pour water
into steam,
we send our
prayers
with a single
voice
and songs are
sung
to the beat of
drums
echoing our
hearts.
Moving back
through time
we find our
voice
In stillness,
in a small low
hut,
in a circle where the people sit
feeling the
heat.
Glowing stones
have eyes,
Spirit has
ears and
listens to our
prayers.
We call and
are answered
in this Sacred
Darkness.
