T. Sean Casey, M.S. is the founder and director of
ANCESTRALCIRCLE. Sean has journeyed around the world, visiting countries as
diverse as India, Russia,
Iceland and Tahiti, and into the Arctic Circle. His interest in Native American philosophy
began when he was a boy, and starting in the 1970s Sean began to immerse himself in those
teachings, legends and lore. As he went along he had the opportunity to receive his
training in ceremony through close association with a great number of well respected
American Indian elders. Foremost among them have been his Spiritual Uncle
Gheezis Mockwa (a world visionary and medicine man from the Chippewa tradition). To
fulfill a four year commitment, Sean danced in the Four Nations Sun Dance led by
Charles Chips, and later by Milton Highbear. For more than seven years he lived and
traveled throughout Europe supporting people on Vision
Quests and sharing his knowledge of Native American Philosophy and Ceremony. While
in Europe Sean was influenced and inspired by the work of English Druid, Phillip Carr-Gom
and Hungarian Shaman, Josca Soos. He has also acquainted himself
with some of the spiritual drumming practices of the Sami (Lapland) people of northern
Sweden. Sean is a Ritual Elder and has knowledge of many traditional healing techniques.
The ceremonies he currently teaches are not related to any American Indian tribal
tradition. In recent years he has been actively working to revive the ancient Irish
spirituality that is his genetic heritage, and through ANCESTRAL CIRCLE, works to
encourage people of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds to rediscover the ancestral tribal
links to Earth-Connected Spirituality that resonate in us all. Sean is a State Certified
Clinical Hypnotherapist, and holds a Master of Science degree in Counseling
Psychology from Dominican University. Sean has published
two books of poetry, and is currently residing in San Francisco.
